More Botanical Headpieces!
Monday, March 7th, 2011Botanical Headpiece
Monday, February 14th, 2011Last month, photographer Ted Mishima asked if I would do a botanical headpiece for a photo shoot. He was interested in submitting images for a show exhibiting alternative forms of photography, and was especially interested in the technique of wet plates.
When he showed some images of botanical headpieces, I had absolutely no idea how I would go about this, but I was excited to tackle the challenge. It was fun! Ted also took many digital images.
A huge Thank you! Ted for inviting me to collaborate on this wonderful project and many thanks to Candace: you were fantastic!

Scrumptious Holiday Wreath Class in the Studio!

Starting with a fir bough wreath, everyone created a rich arrangement that included clusters of bright berries and fruits, dried seedpods, cones and succulents, holiday spices, woodland gleanings and exotic orchid blossoms.
The results were stunning!

Check out a couple of details of Lauren’s wreath!

Lotus and poppy pods, hazelnuts, lichen, ilex berries, curly willow…

Figs (from Jamie‘s tree – thank you!), lady’s apples, bundled cinnamon sticks,
crab apples, dried orange slices…

Fabulous Autumnal Wreaths from Students!
Thursday, November 19th, 2009What a fun class on Monday; everyone’s wreath was gorgeous! Feast your eyes…
“I had a really wonderful time. It was very rewarding to work on something
creative, spend time with my friend AND have all the tools and materials
set up and ready for me when I got to Françoise’s workshop. Plus, I got to
take home my wreath which I’m sure would have cost me twice as much as the class if I had bought it in the store instead. Françoise’s teaching style
is casual, creative and inspiring. In an hour, she had all of us making
wreaths that looked like they came from a professional! Paulette Carter
