in October I participated in a bridal show at the Benson Hotel. The Wedding Experience was a luxurious mock wedding, produced by Simon and Megan Blanco.
Last week I posted photos of the botanical shoes and purses for the bistro tables; here are some images of the flower towers and the log arrangement in the lobby.
A huge thank you for these great pictures to Mario with Falcusan Photography

A couple of weeks ago I got an order for a botanical purse – I've made many for weddings and events. But this time there was a specific request: it needed to last for a long time. Succulents were the answer – but there were some new mechanics involved, because simply gluing the succulents on the purse frame, was not going to keep these little guys alive. Their little roots needed to be in soil! As I have a shade garden, I don't have much experience with growing succulents. After some research I finally came up with a solution for this project. It took quite a while to finish it, but I learned a lot and know that next time it will go much faster!

This was one of 3 flower garlands that I made for an event. So many spring flowers and textures to select: from the bold peonies to the delicate columbine. And here are some others: astrantia, scabiosa, kangoroo paws, weigelia, viburnum, blueberries, cerinthe, kale, sweet william, cymbidium, black baccara roses, leukodendron, amaranthus, succulents, moneyplant, thistle, ferns, …

“The Power of the Purse” fundraising dinner at the Portland Art Museum on March 9th was a benefit for GirlsInc. The mission of this incredible organization is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold.
Cindy Thompson Event Productions explains what the fundraising dinner is about: “The Power of the Purse is not your standard fundraising dinner. In the months prior the event, Portland’s most notable leaders, artists, entrepreneurs and philanthropists worked with local purse designers creating the handbag of their dreams.
Each piece was a unique work of art that was auctioned off during a live fashion show showcasing the fabulous handbags, the creative individuals who inspired their design, and the bright stars of the evening-Girls Inc. girls The Power of the Purse auction and dinner raises money to support Girls Inc., Portland’s local non-profit that supports girls in need to recognize their potential, honor their resiliency, and believe in themselves.”
Cindy asked if I could donate flower purses for the bistro tables; it was my pleasure to be able to contribute to this event.
A huge thank you to Joni Shimabukuro for the pictures!

Last month Katherine Sealy, owner of Event Cosmetics, asked if I could create some botanical couture for her display case at the bridal show at the Nines. The bridal show was sponsored by Portland Bride&Groom Magazine. That day, Katherine launched the Diamant Fragrance from the French Company Fragonard for brides, as a fine European scent available exclusively at Event Cosmetics studio locations.
Thank you Ara with Aralani Photography for the great pictures!
