Fiddleheads add unique texture to any design. Locally they are available early spring when the new ferns uncurl in the gardens; the dark brown ones are from Hawaii and are available year around.

Wedding Workshops are intensive and inspiring, providing insights and techniques developed over many years of European floral design. Classes begin with a lecture and presentation, where your input and questions are welcomed.
After a demonstration of floral techniques and mechanics, you will design your own pieces. You will hone your artistic talents, and will be encouraged to listen to your intuition and further your own vision. Classes are limited to four students to ensure valuable individual attention.

Time: 9am til 4pm (1 hour lunch break)

The delicious fragrance of this perfect delicate bell shaped flower makes lily-of-the-valley an absolute favorite!
They always remind me of a very sweet childhood memory: it is a Belgian tradition on May 1st to give a bunch of lily-of-the-valley to your mom or loved one as a token of appreciation. Apparently this tradition originated in France when on May 1st 1561, King Charles IX of France was presented with a bunch of lily-of-the-valley flowers as a token of luck and prosperity for the coming year.
I wish their season here would be a bit longer; however they are available from California year around – for a pretty penny…
