The workshop is focused on expanding your floral skills and creating new designs. There will be a strong emphasis on the commercial and saleable value of the designs. After a demonstration of techniques and mechanics, you will design your own pieces with the bounty of flowers and textures of Teresa’s flower farm!
This is a workshop for all abilities and the focus will be on stretching yourself to be open to new ways of thinking about botanical materials.
Wednesday, January 25 – Woodland Arrangements
In this class you will learn the mechanics behind creating textural and detailed designs.
For Françoise, the Woodlands sprouted from a childhood memory that took a life of its own. Using foliage, bark, berries, seedpods, twigs, mushrooms, herbs and some flowers, we’ll explore how to make woodland bouquets as well as centerpieces. You will hone your artistic talents and will be encouraged to listen to your own intuition and further your own vision.
Thursday, January 26 – Botanical Couture
We’ll explore different ideas for botanical jewelry and will discuss sourcing materials and the mechanics involved to create a variety of these unique designs. We will also discuss the mechanics for purses, shoes and headpieces.
A professional photographer will be on hand to take pictures of students’ designs for their portfolio.
