Wedding, Woodland and Botanical Couture Workshop

Class size is limited to so make sure to reserve your place!

Please bring your own tools, i.e. clippers, scissors, wire cutters and knives.

Lunch from 12pm to 1pm will be provided.

 

 
 

The workshop is focused on expanding your floral skills and creating new designs. There will be a strong emphasis on the commercial and saleable value of the designs. After a demonstration of techniques and mechanics, you will design your own pieces with the bounty of flowers and textures of Teresa’s flower farm!

This is a workshop for all abilities and the focus will be on stretching yourself to be open to new ways of thinking about botanical materials.

 
 
 

Monday, September 26 – Woodland Arrangements

In this class you will learn the mechanics behind creating textural and detailed designs.
For Françoise, the Woodlands sprouted from a childhood memory that took a life of its own. Using foliage, bark, berries, seedpods, twigs, mushrooms, herbs and some flowers, we’ll explore how to make woodland bouquets as well as centerpieces. You will hone your artistic talents and will be encouraged to listen to your own intuition and further your own vision.

Teresa will also demo her Woodland Themed Bridal Posy, where she uses the language of flowers to create wedding and bride appropriate sentiments in flowers and other botanicals.

 
 
 

 
 
 

Tuesday, September 27 – Botanical Couture

We’ll explore different ideas for botanical headpieces and will discuss sourcing materials and the mechanics involved to create a variety of these unique designs. The afternoon session will focus on botanical purses and jewelry.

A professional photographer will be on hand to take pictures of students’ designs for their portfolio.
