Saturday, November 14th, 2009Here are some examples of beautiful arrangements that students have created in class in the last few weeks. Keep in mind that these ladies had little or no experience with flower arranging. It is so much fun to stand back and watch it all happen…

Details! Details!
Sunday, November 8th, 2009Texture is the visual or tactile surface and appearance of something….. I revel in it and love to juxtapose unexpected combinations of colors and shapes – Mother Nature is *the* ideal source for inspiration!
These arrangements were made in long, very narrow vases; it was a blast to decorate them with foliage, berries, mushrooms, bark and lichens to incorporate the vessels in the design.
Creating Natural & Organic Containers(part 2)

Topiaries
Saturday, September 12th, 2009I love topiaries! Versatile they are: short or tall, they make fabulous centerpieces. Caterers appreciate tall and narrow arrangements for the buffet tables, which make topiaries a perfect choice. They can frame an outdoor ceremony site beautifully; and what a great welcoming decoration near the entry.
White Centerpieces
Friday, July 3rd, 2009The large square tables were decorated with 4 medium square vases. The bride liked an organic look: each vase was filled with a club moss plant – the dirt showed – and a phaelonopsis orchid stem was secured with a small piece of raffia to a thin branch. Some brown hypericum berries were added on top of the moss.
