3 Day Woodland Workshop on May 7, 8 & 9

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

Explore the many possibilities the woodlands have to offer and be inspired by the botanical treasures of the Pacific Northwest! Françoise’s absolute love for this style of arrangement stems from her time spent as a child in Switzerland. Foraging for a piece of wood or bark and moss and adding some wildflowers, she would make arrangements for her Mother while on summer hikes with her family in the Alps. Her woodland fairy creations have since bloomed into unique centerpieces and bouquets using the foliage of the Northwest as her muse. Detail is paramount in these layered, intricate creations. Gather ideas to express your creativity and learn to work with woodland materials found in nature!

Woodland Workshops are intensive and inspiring, providing insights and techniques developed over many years of European floral design. Classes begin with a lecture and presentation, where your input and questions are welcomed.

After a demonstration of floral techniques and mechanics, you will design your own pieces. You will hone your artistic talents, and will be encouraged to listen to your intuition and further your own vision. Classes are limited to five students to ensure valuable individual attention.

Dates: Monday May 7, Tuesday May 8, Wednesday May 9

Time: 9am til 4pm (1 hour lunch break)

Where: At Françoise’s Studio

Cost: $1,300 – A 50% deposit is requested to reserve your space; the balance is due April 30th.

Fabulous Autumnal Wreaths from Students!

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

What a fun class on Monday; everyone’s wreath was gorgeous! Feast your eyes…

“I had a really wonderful time. It was very rewarding to work on something
creative, spend time with my friend AND have all the tools and materials
set up and ready for me when I got to Françoise’s workshop. Plus, I got to
take home my wreath which I’m sure would have cost me twice as much as the class if I had bought it in the store instead. Françoise’s teaching style
is casual, creative and inspiring. In an hour, she had all of us making
wreaths that looked like they came from a professional! Paulette Carter

Ceremony Flowers

Monday, May 11th, 2009

A few weeks ago I posted  ideas to decorate archways and chuppas.  There are many other choices to decorate ceremony sites. Often tall arrangements in vases or urns are a favorite.  But you can also embellish the ceremony site with garden arrangements or wreaths or decorate candelabras.

Two bright pink wreaths, suspended from a wooden pole, framed the ceremony site for Jandi and Jesse’s wedding. The poles were secured in containers covered with moss; lots of texture decorated the base of the pole.

This garden arrangement was a fitting backdrop for the ceremony at the First Congregational Church.
