The workshop is focused on expanding your floral skills and creating new designs. There will be a strong emphasis on the commercial and saleable value of the designs. After a demonstration of techniques and mechanics, you will design your own pieces, using a fabulous selection of flowers and textures from SF Brannan St Wholesale.
This is a workshop for all abilities and the focus will be on stretching yourself to be open to new ways of thinking about botanical materials.
Saturday, March 18 – Bouquets and Botanical Jewelry
In the morning we will explore the techniques of a variety of styles of bridal bouquets: woodland, cascading and structural designs. We will also discuss the mechanics for flower crowns and pomanders and how to make pocket boutonniers.
Botanical jewelry is a great alternative for traditional corsages. Learn how to use aluminum wire as a base for rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Through creative use of small blossoms, deconstructed flowers, textures and succulents you will make these designs truly personal.
Sunday, March 19 – Ceremony Flowers
We will focus on several techniques and mechanics to create an arbor as well as aisle decorations. You will work in teams to create the different designs. We will also discuss how these designs can be transferred for the reception decorations.
A photographer will capture images of your designs.

Dear Ms Weeks,
Thank you for the tremendous opportunity to learn the business side of Floral Design as well as the technical side.
I hope that Proposals will be covered as well as, pacing the work ~ especially factoring in the perishable nature of floral materials.
While I have a graphic design business, I am moving to embrace Floral Design (not represented on the website yet; redesigning it) to grow it to be a viable business. I have registered for the 3.14 presentation at Bouquets to Art & will now register for the 3.18.3.19 Workshop!

Thank you for signing up for the workshop. Looking forward to meeting you next week!
