Holiday Wreath

I love decorating evergreen wreaths with a plethora of small fruits, nuts, berries, barks, etc…here is a step by step on how to create your own.

Of course you can use any elements that you like to decorate it.

Supplies

12″wire frame

paddle wire ( I like to use a thin gauge 26 or 28)

hot glue gun

glue sticks

evergreen stems

Decorations

bark

a few stems of dogwood and elm

lotus pods

mushrooms

pine cones

a variety of seedpods

acorns

walnuts

peppers

lady apples

crab apples

mandarins

baby limes

slices of dehydrated oranges and persimmons

dehydrated pommegranates

cinnamon sticks

equisitum

raffia

Secure the paddle wire to the frame by twisting it tightly a few times. Take a small bundle of evergreen stems, angle them to the outside of the wreath and wrap them tightly on the frame with the paddle wire (I usually wrap about 5 times). Overlap closely with another small bundle and wrap about 5 times.

Continue until the frame is covered; secure the wire on the frame.

If you use equisitum or cinnamon pieces, create small bundles and wrap them a few times with raffia or ribbon

I typically start decorating by placing the bark and the larger pieces on the wreath; then add clusters of fruit randomly. When satisfied with the placement, I hot glue everything down. Then I add the smaller elements in small clusters to fill in.

Keep in mind that the more fruit you include, the heavier the wreath will be.

The options are endless! have fun with this project.
