Headpiece with Welded Spiral

A few months  ago I asked Andre, who has welded several structures for me, if he could weld a a spiral on a stand. I loved the results! The spiral was elevated about a foot from a round base and I had fun making a couple of woodland designs with it.

Andre very kindly altered the base when I mentioned that  I was interested in using the spiral as part of a botanical headpiece. Last Sunday we did a photo shoot – Kari modeled the headpiece beautifully; many thanks to Ted  for the pictures!

    Francois, this piece is fantastic.
My question is, are your pieces meant to be functional or purely art?
    Thanks for your reply,
    Beth

Hi, so sorry for this late reply. Some of the designs are functional, and some are not

    Francoise,
I have been crazy about your woodland & floral designs , following you for many years now. I so love how you push away from the traditional, creating beautiful and enchanting pieces that look as though you just lifted them up off the forest floor.

I’ve intended to come meet and be with you, & take a workshop or course over the last several years and haven’t been able to work it out but it looks like during the rest of 2022 & 2023 I will be able to make it happen.

Thank you for you inspiration and spirit!!
    Ashley
