In this workshop you will learn the mechanics behind creating textural and detailed designs that will expand the way you think about flowers. We will discuss and design personal flowers, unique centerpieces and ceremony arrangements. This workshop offers practical, hands-on experience that will further develop your own skills and increase your confidence to explore outside the box. After a demonstration of techniques and mechanics, you will design your own pieces.
For Françoise, the Woodlands sprouted from a childhood memory that took a life of its own. Using foliage, bark, berries, seedpods, twigs, mushrooms, herbs and some flowers, we’ll explore how to make woodland bouquets as well as centerpieces. We’ll discuss color, texture, form, ideas and techniques.
Thursday, May 1 – Botanical Couture
We’ll explore different ideas for botanical purses as centerpieces and will discuss sourcing materials and the mechanics involved to create a wide variety of these unique designs. The afternoon session will focus on botanical headpieces.

New Log Arrangement
The last several years I have made quite a few log arrangements – always for weddings or events. Last month a client asked to make one for her mantle at home. I carefully chose textures and botanicals that would last a very long time and would require minimal care. What a fun project!

The 5 day Flower & Garden Show in San Francisco on March 19-23 promises to be a spectacular event where you will enjoy stunning show gardens and meet hundreds of vendors who offer garden related products. You’ll have the opportunity to attend a wide variety of seminars or sign up for hands-on workshops. Here you’ll begin to see your surroundings in a whole new light. A piece of bark, a log, driftwood, wooden disk, branches or rootballs can all become bases for the unique structures we will be creating. In this workshop you will create a beautiful arrangement using rich foliage, bark, berries, seedpods, twigs, mushrooms and herbs.

New Flower Purses!
Last summer, I saw the picture of a stunning flower purse on Facebook. I found out that the base was made by Bolsa Flora, a Belgian company and contacted them to tell what a fabulous product they made. I was thrilled when a few weeks ago they asked if I would be interested to decorate their 6 different purses.
When I asked Joni if she could take pictures, she generously agreed. I love the results!
