New Botanical Headpieces and Masks

Last Saturday was so much fun! Photographer Ted Mishima had suggested another collaboration to feature botanical headpieces – and for fun I tried my hand on some botanical eye masks also. Models Sarah Pardini and Amanda Hatheway were fantastic!

Ted works a lot with an old technique, wet plates – feast your eyes on his amazing work!

Except for a couple of items all the flowers and textures used were sourced locally – a huge thank you to Rose Hill Flower Farm, Stockman Acres, Charles Little, Peterkort Roses, Teufels and Z Callas for all these botanical treasures

Botanical Couture Workshop on September 16, 17 & 18

photos: Elijah Park, Joni Shimabukuro, Ted Mishima

In this workshop on Botanical Couture  you will learn the mechanics behind creating sumptuous designs that mimic objects in our everyday lives. Ornate botanical purses and shoes,  headpieces and jewelry, will expand the way you think about flowers! This class offers practical, hands-on experience that will further develop your own skills and repertoire and increase your confidence to think outside the box. After a demonstration of floral techniques and mechanics, you will design your own pieces. You will hone your artistic talents, and will be encouraged to listen to your intuition and further your own vision. Classes are limited to five students to ensure valuable individual attention.
