Last November, HPSO extended an invitation to do a demonstration of woodland arrangements at the Yard, Garden and Patio Show this past weekend. It was time to put on that extroverted hat again!
It seemed like a good idea to make 3 sample arrangements ahead of time. A huge thank you to Ted Mishima for taking these wonderful photos in my back yard, before heading to the Convention Center.
And many thanks to Nancy Goldman for offering this opportunity!
Date : December 1, 2010

Bravo! Wedding invited four florists to make all the centerpieces for this event. The only specification was to use white flowers – it was an fun opportunity to showcase a variety of table flowers.

Last month, photographer Ted Mishima asked if I would do a botanical headpiece for a photo shoot. He was interested in submitting images for a show exhibiting alternative forms of photography, and was especially interested in the technique of wet plates.
When he showed some images of botanical headpieces, I had absolutely no idea how I would go about this, but I was excited to tackle the challenge. It was fun! Ted also took many digital images.
A huge Thank you! Ted for inviting me to collaborate on this wonderful project and many thanks to Candace: you were fantastic!
Last week, while I was making the flower purses for the Schoolhouse Supply event, Ginger Coombs – camera in hand – came by for a visit.
Here are some of the pictures that she took. Thank you Ginger!
Last Friday Schoolhouse Supplies, an organization that connects members of the community with students in over 130 schools throughout the Portland Public School district, had it’s annual fundraiser at the Portland Art Museum. The fundraiser was a huge success!!!!
It was a pleasure to sponsor the flowers for this special event. Joni Shimabukuro and Andie Petkus were the photographers extraordinaires!
Fun purses for the bistro tables
A couple of weeks ago I was asked to donate a woodland arrangement for an event that HPSO ( Hardy Plant Society of Oregon) had organized and it was specified to use as much possible from the garden. As my garden offers very little at this time of the year, I also got some treasures from my friend Joy’s garden and further supplemented with snippets from houseplants and bark, lichens, mushrooms etc… When several people commented that the arrangement looked like a fairy garden, the comment made me smile – the name just may stick….
