Botanical Couture for Guys!

First photo shoot with baby Oak and his dad Ryan Bear and let’s not forget their puppy Star!

Oak’s vest, covered with silverleaf and decorated with textures and ripsalis, was Ryan’s when he was about 1 year old. Fun to keep baby clothes in the family and then transform them with botanicals!

Thank you Theresa Bear for another great concept and for the fabulous pictures!

On the last day they worked in teams and created gorgeous woodland circular archways. As always, the students […]

Botanical Wings

About 4 years ago photographer Ted Mishima and I talked about doing a photo shoot with botanical wings. Over the years the conversation came up many times, we imagined several concepts and gathered many pictures. A couple of years ago my friend Sheryl Tynes told me that she would love to collaborate on that idea. […]

Woodland/Botanical Couture Workshop in Beijing

Last month I went to Beijing for the 5th time to teach a 6 day woodland/botanical couture workshop, hosted by Cohim. As always the students were eager to learn new mechanics and techniques and they splendidly interpreted them in their designs. They experienced how curiosity is a driving force to look at flowers through different […]

Woodland Botanical Couture (1)

A few weeks ago I posted pictures of a woodland mask, flower crown and bow tie that I had made for a commercial for Oregon Bride Magazine. The video announced their annual bridal show Urban Unveiled  that took place earlier this month at Montgomery Park. It was thrilling that the magazine hired me to do […]
