A New Approach

Students will learn to create show stopping jewelry and dresses, using striking foliage, flowers and a plethora of textures. Françoise is recognized for her innovations in wearable floral art and will impart her knowledge of the technical skills needed to design your own catwalk pieces.

Françoise will show you her methods for deconstructing plant materials such as succulents, seedpods, herbs and flowers. Tools to find your own vision and local bounty will be emphasized during this exhilarating, hands-on class.

Botanical Jewelry

Learn how to create jewelry designs using aluminum wire as a base for rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Piece together the often overlooked bits of texture occurring in seedpods, tendrils, succulents, herbs and tropical greenhouse favorites to add color and movement to the designs that will make a statement at galas, weddings and on the catwalk.

Botanical Dress

Whether you are interested to make a dress to wear for a special occasion, or to participate in a competition or to create one for a mannequin in your shop, the techniques you will learn can be adapted for any of these occasions. As this is a very time consuming project, students will work in pairs to create the base of a dress for a mannequin. This technique will allow the students to create any design they fancy. Once the mechanics are covered with one or more varieties of foliage, the dress will be embellished with a great selection of flowers and textures.

A professional photographer will document all of your designs.

I’d like to register for the March 3 & 4 workshop in San Francisco, but it appears the online basket feature may not be working properly. Would you kindly reserve a spot for me until the basket accepts my selection?

    Thank you,
