Jannette & Charlie

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

September 26,2009

Clear, sunny weather was delightful on Jannette and Charlie’s wedding day! The ceremony took place in the quaint chapel at Camp Colton and the rustic reception hall was fabulous for the reception. Rebecca Dryer captured all the beauty and joy of the day perfectly.

Jannette’s parents, who own a nursery, provided lots of birch branches which were incorporated in the centerpieces and the altar arrangements. A great special touch!

Jannette’s favorite flower: orange ranunculus!

Wreaths

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

In every culture around the world, wreaths always have been associated  symbolism of eternal love.

They can be designed around walls and doors and used in a variety of ways as centerpieces. Or they can be worn as head dresses by brides or flower girls alike.

This wreath, covered with dahlias, roses, chocolate cosmos, scabiosa, green blackberries, figs and other textures sits on the rim of a compote, filled with berries, cherries and plums

“Live” Holiday Class in the Studio

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

When I first started to teach seasonal classes in 2003, I asked my friend Joni if she could take some pictures during the class.

So here are some pictures of a class in action! Everyone created a topiary tree by magically combining a gilded terra cotta pot, cinnamon sticks, seasonal greens, cones, seedheads and a variety of flowers. The results were splendid! photographer:Joni Shimabukuro – http://www.joniphoto.com
